College student Peter Kane is about to find out.

While visiting Long Island’s famed East End during summer break, Peter is attacked by a mysterious assailant with both the skills and appearance of something straight out of a video game. After he somehow survives the attack, an enigmatic stranger reveals to Peter that Peter has been selected to play a game, the stakes of which are no less than the fate of the world.

Peter soon realizes that it isn’t winning the game that will save the world—it’s wrestling control away from those who control everything. And if he can’t figure out how to accomplish that seemingly impossible feat, his reality doesn’t stand a chance at surviving.
